Plastic Ocean
It all started with a documentary (as I'm sure many stories like mine have). Plastic Ocean changed my life and opened my eyes to how truly horrible plastic is. (shameless plug, GO WATCH PLASTIC OCEAN, it's on Netflix and is amazing.)
In this documentary, they went over different scenarios like how long it takes for plastic to completely biodegrade (btw, it's never), the affects of plastic on marine life, and they even delve to the bottom of the ocean to see plastic water bottles (awesome, huh). Traveling to 20 different locations around the world, they give a great, comprehensive view of the affects of the poison that is plastic.
Long story short, because of this 2 hour life changer, I have decided to slowly alter my habits to becoming plastic-less. Along the way I will share websites, stores, diy ideas, tips, and other environmental friendly things I learn along the way. It's going to be a journey, and I'm excited to get started! I hope you'll join me for the ride.
This image is the one that resonated with me the most; this is all the plastic found in the belly of this duck. |
